4. The Gorillas Return To Pudsey
After many adventures, the gorillas and Captain Pearson came back to Pudsey. They brought with them a parrot that could talk and a boomerang. When Captain Pearson threw the boomerang, it always came back and hit him on the back of his head because he didn’t catch it. He used to scream ‘Bloody Hell,’ and the parrot would shout, ‘Bloody Hell, silly old Captain Pearson. Can’t throw a boomerang for toffee. Silly Billy’.
The gorillas laughed at Captain Pearson’s bumps. When Captain Pearson threw the boomerang at the parrot, the parrot flew out of the way, and the boomerang hit Captain Pearson on the back of the head, knocking him off his feet.
The gorillas decided to have fun and got five bikes from a shop in Chapeltown. They rode around Captain Pearson singing, “Captain Pearson is a silly old bugger”. He bought a new bike and charged at them, but they dodged, and he went whizzing past, unable to stop. He went up New Street, onto Carlisle Road, and raced through the doors at Asda.
The gorillas followed on their bikes, riding through the aisles. Captain Cracker borrowed Robert’s scooter and pushed it with his peg leg, sticking his foot in a cabbage Captain Pearson had knocked down. He shouted, ‘I’ve got a bloody cabbage stuck on peg leg’.
People started throwing potatoes at Captain Pearson. A potato hit him, making him crash into the fruit and vegetables. A pineapple got stuck on his head, a tomato on his nose, and a banana in his ear. Everyone laughed. Captain Pearson started throwing cabbages and potatoes back. The parrot dropped a big tomato on Captain Pearson’s head, which squashed down his face. Everyone joined in, throwing tomatoes, and the gorillas threw turnips, making his head full of bumps.
Captain Pearson jumped on his bike to get away, but Captain Cracker swung his leg, and the cabbage knocked Captain Pearson off. The parrot suggested they throw Captain Pearson into the freezer cabinet among the frozen chips. Robert, Richard, the five gorillas, Captain Cracker, and the parrot picked him up and threw him in. He yelled that his bum was freezing. The boss of Asda told him he would melt all the frozen chips.
Captain Pearson came out with his trousers wet. Captain Cracker threw a cabbage at him, knocking his cap off. Captain Pearson knocked Captain Cracker’s peg leg off with a potato. Captain Pearson said he was going back to his ship. He ran to Pudsey market place and got on a bus to the station, followed by Robert, Richard, Captain Cracker, the parrot, and the gorillas, who all shouted “Good riddance”. Captain Pearson shouted that he would get his revenge later.
